Drawing on Queerness

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Queer comics provide a unique window into the uncensored hopes, fears, and fantasies of LGBTQ people. They analyze their own communities, and their relationship with the broader society, in smart, funny, and profound ways. Justin Hall (No Straight Lines, Hard to Swallow) hosts this gathering of some of the Bay Area's best LGBTQ cartoonists. Join Maia Kobabe (Gender Queer), Ajuan Mance (1001 Black Men, Gender Studies), Joey Alison Sayers (Just So You Know, Alley Oop), and Mariko Tamaki (Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me, This One Summer) for an evening of comics stories of every stripe from courageous memoir and awkward adolescent romance to dark existential humor and gay werewolves. FREE
