Join us for a reading by participants from Litquake's Elder Writing Workshops. Seniors participate in 12-week sessions to explore writing letters, poetry, and prose through prompts and discussions on topics like gaining through loss and writing to remember while utilizing sound patterns, repetition, and strategies of emphasis. They also learn how reading their work aloud is unlike writing or reading alone. Each session culminates in an anthology and public reading. Join us for the release of our fall anthology! FREE
“I saw people tell their stories who wanted to but may not have imagined they could. Across the board, the participants reached into themselves and were able to write and were uplifted by it. Each discovered their abilities anew, how readily memory comes when prompted and encouraged, and they encountered themselves with creativity and obvious satisfaction. It was wonderful to witness and be part of.” — Elder Project teacher & poet Julie Rogers
